LAM Officer and Technical Coordinator – Health Information System

JSI Research & Training, Inc. (JSI) is implementing the Health Services Program (HSP) and working in two districts in East Java
on specific issues of maternal, child and newborn health. We are
currently looking for a suitable candidate to fill in the vacancy for position
of:
Technical CoordinatorHealth Information System (1 position)

General summary of position: Technical Coordinator: Health
Information Systems
manages the HSP Program relationship with the Kabupaten Malang health office in relation to health information systems. The Coordinator works closely with the Field Office Director and District Coordinators to identify and manage capacity building inputs for partners to improve agreed elements of the HIS in relation to data for improved decision making for MNCH.

Working Conditions:

This position will be based in the HSP Kabupaten Malang Office. Regular travel to throughout the district is required.
Contract period: 6 months

Duties and Responsibilities:
· Manages the relationship with the participating district health offices in relation to Health Information Systems
· Coordinates the inputs of specialist consultants in the district
· Assists in analysis of HIS tools and models
· Provides technical inputs on HIS, particularly on the LAM and LAMAT tools
· Manages any program of HSP technical assistance in support of improved HIS for MNCH
· Ensures partners comply with program monitoring and evaluation requirements
· Provides advice to the Field Office Director on issues likely to affect program progress or quality and proposes strategies for addressing issues as they arise
· Provides technical support to District Office staff working on HIS.

Educational Qualifications:
A Masters level education/training or its equivalent in Health Information Systems or its equivalent.

LAM Officer (1 position)

General summary of position:
The Local Area Monitoring Officer
assists in providing technical assistance to the Government of Kabupaten
Pasuruan in improving the health information system for MNCH.
Working Conditions:

This position will be based in the HSP Kabupaten Pasuruan Office. Regular travel to throughout the district is required.
Contract period: 6 months


Duties and Responsibilities:
· Supports puskesmas staff to institutionalize agreed programs for improved local monitoring and HIS especially in relation to MNCH
· Provides agreed on-the-job training activities and other technical assistance for enhancing the use of computerized HIS systems, particularly the LAMAT
· Assists HSP HIS Coordinators and program consultants in their efforts to study and document HIS tools
· Provides advice to the Technical Coordinator, HIS (Pasuruan) on issues likely to affect program progress or quality and proposes strategies for addressing issues as they arise.
Educational Qualifications:
A Bachelors level education/training or its equivalent in Health Information Systems or similar.
