Closing date : 16 November 2009
Under the direct supervision of the Cluster Coordinator, the candidate will act as
the main point of contact for humanitarian actors requiring information about
the clusters in West Sumatra.
Responsibilities
· Act as the main point of contact and go between the Cluster Coordinator and all other sectors for GOI and Cluster members
· Receive, respond to and refer incoming emails and requests on behalf of Cluster Coordinator
· Ensure requests are followed-up and maintain a log of correspondence;
· Manage meeting schedules, and receive updates to contact lists and other databases;
· Contact sectoral focal points to ensure that information at OCHA is kept accurate
· Attend the cluster meeting and taking minute of meeting
· Provide translation of key documents between English and Bahasa;
· Print, photocopy, and duplicate documents for customers and internal office needs
· Develop, classify and maintain unit files;
· Any other tasks as directed by the Cluster Coordinator or Officer in charge
Qualifications and Experience
· Bachelor degree with 3 years working experience in humanitarian or 2 years working experience for master degree.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a willingness to work in a multicultural environment.
· Excellent command of written and spoken English
· College degree in the arts or sciences
. Ability to handle a large volume of work quickly and accurately under time constraints
· Experience with the use of computers and productivity
software, as well as other office equipment including printers and photocopiers
· Experience working with international and national humanitarian agencies or UN
· Good knowledge of UN coordination mechanisms
