The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) advances mutual understanding and
collaboration between the people of Asia and Europe through intellectual,
cultural, and people-to-people exchanges. These exchanges include
conferences, lecture tours, workshops, seminars and the use of web-based
platforms. The major achievement of ASEF is the establishment of permanent
bi-regional networks focussed on areas and issues that help to strengthen

ASEF has embarked on establishing a Network for Public Health. This is part
of the wider ASEM initiative for the rapid containment of pandemic influenza
which includes a stockpile component. Funded by the Japanese Ministry of
Foreign Affairs and in partnership with the World Health Organisation (WHO),
the ASEF network will complement the work of other institutions and will
focus mainly on the exchange of best practices between Asia and Europe.
1. ASEF seeks to engage a motivated *Accountant* to start immediately.
This position has a direct reporting line to the Director for Finance and
Administration with dotted line reporting to the Project Manager, ASEF
Network for Public Health. The successful candidate will primarily be
responsible for maintaining and presenting the financial records for the
ASEM Network for Public Health in addition to providing accounting support
to other funds managed by ASEF.
The appointment is on a two-year renewable contract basis, with an initial 3-month probation period.

2. ASEF seeks to engage a motivated *Communications Officer* to start
immediately. The successful candidate will be in charge of the internal and
external communications of the 4-year programme. The appointment is on a
two-year renewable contract basis, with an initial 3-month probation
period.
