FOR THE INDONESIA DOMESTIC BIOGAS PROGRAMME

3 positions (Enrekang, South Sulawesi)

Duty Station : Enrekang, South Sulawesi

Duration : One year with the possibility of extension based on performance

Since 15 May 2009, Hivos is running the Indonesia Domestic Biogas Programme
(IDBP), funded by the Dutch government and supported by DGEEU, better known as
the BIRU Programme. This programme is undertaken in close cooperation with SNV
Netherlands Development organisation and supported by The Royal Netherlands
Embassy and various other agencies.

The overall objective of the Indonesia Domestic Biogas Programme is to promote
the construction and use of domestic bio-digesters as a local and sustainable energy source through the development of
a market oriented sector in selected provinces. South Sulawesi has become
target province of the BIRU Programme, and activities will start in Enrekang.

The Programme intends to recruit a Provincial
Coordinator (PC), a Biogas Promotion Officer (BPO) and a Quality Inspector (QI)
for South Sulawesi office (duty station Enrekang) that supports the Programme
Manager in securing the quality of the Programme at provincial level and
liaising with provincial stake holders.

1. Provincial Coordinator

The Provincial Biogas Programme Offices of the
Indonesia Domestic Biogas Programme are main players in the development of the
biogas sector in their respective provinces. The leading person in the Provincial Biogas Programme Office (PBPO) is the Provincial Biogas Coordinator. In close coordination with the IDBP Programme Manager in Jakarta, s/he has to manage day to day operation of the office as
well as the progress of work in the field. Major responsibilities include
maintaining construction progress, stakeholder coordination and liaison,
administration, and handling local credit providers.

Requirements:

a) University Degree (minimal S1) in management, rural development or other relevant subject;

b) Proven management and coordination
abilities, a minimum of 4 years working experience in a related field;

c) Proven ability in report writing in English and Bahasa Indonesia;

d) Excellent communication / human relation skills ;

e) Affinity with renewable energy;

f) Team player.

2. Biogas Promotion Officer (BPO)

The Biogas Promotion Officer (BPO) takes the responsibility of promotion, marketing
and extension activities in the assigned province. Major responsibilities
include biogas promotion and marketing activities through community awareness
meetings, regional events and other promotion activities , networking with
programme partners and media and contributing to collection of information, to
the BIRU website www.biru.or.id and to
training activities.

Requirements:

· University Graduate (S1) in marketing, communication, extension or in similar fields;

· At least 2years of experience working in promotion, marketing, training, networking and communication;

· Able to frequent field visit and driving motorcycle;

· Good communication / human relation skills ;

· Sufficient knowledge of local context and able to communicate in local language;

· Biogas experience (desired);

· English language proficiency.

3. Biogas Quality Inspector (QI)

The Biogas Quality Inspector (QI) takes responsibility for quality control towards the construction of biogas plants and provides necessary technical backstopping to the staff of construction partner organisations. Major responsibilities include maintaining quality of
plant construction, technical training to the staff and technical monitoring of
the plants.

Requirements:

· D3 Degree in civil engineering;

· At least two years of experience working in construction, supervision, training or
similar jobs;

· Able to undertake frequent field visits and drive a motorcycle in hilly areas;

· Good communication / human relation skills ;

· Biogas experience (desired);

· English language proficiency (desired).
