Burnet Indonesia is seeking applications from suitably qualified
Indonesian nationals with STRONG FINANCIAL SKILLS, who are PROACTIVE,

INDONESIA
Established in 1986, the Burnet Institute (BI) is a leading Australian
medical research and public health organization, focused on improving
the health of disadvantaged and marginalized groups. BI works at
international and regional levels, and with governments, universities,
NGOs and community-based organizations in more than 15 countries. BI
builds capacity and strengthens health services and local organizations
to reduce the impact of major health problems. BI is fully accredited as
a non-government development organization by AusAID, is a UNAIDS
Collaborating Centre, a Collaborative Centre with the World Health
Organisation (WHO) for antiretroviral (ARV) resistance testing, and is
affiliated with Monash University and the University of Melbourne. BI
has been working in Indonesia since 1987 and established a country
office in 2002.
The Finance Officer (SFO) holds an important role in managing the
financial aspects of Burnet Indonesia’s program this includes:
• Financial policy, systems and procedures development
• Financial audit, risk assessment and management
• Financial reporting and analysis
• Donor and Partner grants
Essential criteria:
• Post-graduate qualifications or Bachelors degree in accounting and at
least 3 years relevant work experience.
• Demonstrable financial management and budgeting skills
• Proved experience and familiarity in handling all matters related to
Government of Indonesia tax requirements and other financial legislation
• Strong organizational skills including the ability to plan, prioritize
and ensure implementation of work to required standards.
• High level of numerical skills, analytical, conceptual and problem
solving skills
• Self conscious and independent in conduct routine works that are
necessary to keep Burnet Indonesia’s finance accounts up to date.
• Ability to meet critical deadlines
• Proven problem-solving and negotiation skills
• Strong computer skills with experience of using accounting packages
• Excellent skills in written and spoken English and the capacity to
communicate with clarity
Desirable qualifications:
• Possess minimum 2 years experience in operating SUN Accounting System
• Experience working in a similar position in an INGO
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including patience, diplomacy,
willingness to listen and respect for colleagues
• Ability to work as part of a team or individually
• Willing to travel on Burnet Indonesia business.
• Open, responsible and honest
